The industry that is going to growing rapidly in Pakistan is Information Technology this is the information i got while roaming the internet & stumbled upon a very interesting news posted by Telecom Pk stating a report by Worlbank that states that Pakistan is a golden place for investment in Information Technology. Finally years of handwork seems like might pay off.
A recent World Bank report has declared Pakistan as one of the top favourable economies in the world. The “Doing Business 2008″ report states that Pakistan is in second place compared to other South Asian countries in terms of certain economic indicators, such as: ease of doing business, dealing with licenses, and protecting investors.
Pakistan is quickly emerging as a powerhouse in the region, partly due to its fast paced IT industry. The government’s policies towards foreign investors have also contributed in helping the country stand out. These include 100 per cent foreign equity ownership, 100 per cent repatriation of profits for foreign investors and tax exemption for the sector till 2013.
Though it is a fact Govt. and the current environment clearly shows how Information Technology is going to boost. We are sitting on a dot com bubble (though i restrain from using the word bubble as they usually burst) but it is a fact the Information technology is going to boom. Many hurdles in the past for such boom in IT has been removed there is vast amount of office space available at least in Lahore, high speed Internet available in few call with comparatively good customer service, finding technical staff is quite easy as well but finding quality/efficient staff is a little difficult to. …. no doubt a positive news and a positive change in our era …
PS: If any outside investors looking to setup an IT operation in Pakistan get in touch with me i can consult and help setup everything

Okai i am going to be breaking this news, Yes Naseeb Networks the company behind Rozee.pk & Naseeb.com is gearing up to launch a social networking / blogging / sms / voice / mail portal in Pakistan for the people of Pakistan.

The portal so far seems to be under tremendous development and might be in stealth mode(untill this post), and it cannot be predicted when Naseeb will be ready to launch Pakistan’s first social networking site. So far the project is focusing under 6 core elements.
- VoiceMails
- SMS (super cool feature with tremendous potential)
- Mail (not so cool we love gMail)
- Friends
- Photos
- Blogs
Naseeb already have a very strong experience with social networking portals (naseeb.com) along with voice & sms services(ringpakistan). Apart from blogging / photos / mail the only two things that seems exciting and new is the SMS & Voice Messages to me.
With telecom companies flooding in Pakistan who have tremendous amount of ad money for promotion of such service the SMS with web will definitely get good attention and funding for Naseeb. Previously for Rozee.pk Naseeb partnered with Mobilink and i am sure for the SMS service naseeb will definitely be looking forward to them.

Orkut which was of its time a very famous social networking site launched by Google Inc. recently launched its mobile version where from mobile you can use orkut. Though there is lack in functionality as the core purpose of the mobile functionality is the ability to review / reply to your scraps … well to be frank Google people we have moved forward with scraps now we use twitter and every single day i am getting more addicted to twitter reason being its adoptability with diffrent apps, you can twitt from web / mobile / IM which is quite fun & easy.

Okai this interesting “China Mobile” who previously acquired “Paktel for $460 million finally launches an aggressive marketing campaign with a new brand called “ZONG” its a good step by China Mobile as changing there original brand name “China Mobile” on the back end and brining “ZONG” as new brand to compete in our telecommunication market where no doubt competition is cut throat.

One thing interesting about the brand name is the meaning of the word “ZONG” which according to Google means “A bong that has kinks or curves in the neck allowing more smoke to fit without the height of the bong increasing” ok now if you are smart you should know what bong is if not then “A bong, also commonly known as a water pipe, is a smoking device, generally used to smoke cannabis, tobacco, or other substances” other substances can be many other substances easily available by import from Afghanistan. So the question is What does this mean for there brand does it mean ZONG is for people who like to live ‘HIGH’ above the others hmm ..
Check out ZONG’s Website for more details on Package plans
