   Ya they are cheap only if they provide service. I have applied for last 13 days and for last sayd they are telling me, “your modem has been sent thru courier”. I can’t figure out if the courier guy is coming on feet? that he couldn’t reach my home in 4 days. Today is the 5th day. I guess PTCL is better.

   Yaar I’m using PTCL, there service is good, speed is better but the only problem is with the volume of 4GB or 6GB.
   That’s why I also wana shift on LINK DSL but can’t find any comments about there service.
   ASIF please post some comments about there service when you get the connection

   Forget Landline DSL. Go for WiMAX technology. Although initial cost is high but its service is good. soon you will be able to use it while you are on the move. WiMAX mobiles are also near to launch so you can use one connection either from PC, Laptop or Mobile by your login. No worries that you are in home or in market. It will work with you with high fi speed all around you.

   As usual with ptcl itself and othe ISPs. linkdotnet has a lousy customer services. Its been a month since I subscribed for dsl connection, but am still waiting for it.
   Phoning customer service (if you are able to get through after an average 15-25 minutes wait) has a ready made answer that it will soon be operative.

   Their Technical Team is the most laziest team in the entire DSL service providers in Pakistan.

   Its almost a month that I paid for the connection and they are unable to install it. More details can be found on my blog.

   Shafiq you are right i used to use DSL from WOL which is now linkDotNet so far i had a horrible experience and even after accusation things didn’t change it seems ..

    by using Broadband of ptcl within how many min. site upload as compare to dial up.

    I am using dial up and its speed is just 31 kbps. i am webdeveloper so i need high speed connection without breaking my budget. 1000 rs per month. and i don’t have any info about networking.

    You can get LinkDotNet DSL it will cost you Rs1200 i think, and download and upload speed on a 512kbp connection is usually 64-70 kbps

    Linkdotnet is a fraud….trust me. i got 512 package but they are giving me downloading speed upto min 1 and max. 5 or 6 kbs. wen i contact the company they said that u have to take some other package if you want full donwloading limit. Infact due to PTCL rates they atonce upgraded the packages. now they are giving me 512 package with 4 more customers to share my limit. now they are asking me to pay more if i want real 512 package.

    Farhan, this is a fact every ISP that offer DSL give a shared connection shared between 4-10 people Wateen Shares its connection with 14 people. But 5-6 k is a horrible speed you should at least get 32k – 42k minimum if you are not getting that then probably there is noise in your phone line which causes DSL to work really slow.

    Farhan is a incorrect. i have installed linkdot net today and im getting an average speed of 45KB/s which shoots to 50 + most of the time.
    So he is a just ,blaming company.
    Linkdot net service is good

    I think LinkdotNet is the only ISP Providing DSL econimically with quality services , and today’s 512k is RS.1200 is no big issue as PTCL is giving in same price but services are not up to mark.

    I think you should not compare LinkdotNet with india’s Price ,there are several reason one main reason which i think u know is Highly inflation in our country.
    further LinkdotNet rates are not expansive it’s very cheap if you comapre with other ISp e.g 2MB Rs.3900/- only also giving good speed as well.

    I think you should leave your details with them and they will get back to you. My younger sister has done the same for the 512 DSL package.

    I am a Link Dial-Up (WOL) user and still use the SMS4NET service through which I can get internet hours over the SMS, just by sending 10, 20 or 50 to 965 to get 4, 8 or 25 hours.

    Hello. I want the PTCL 512 kb/s. I want to ask that what will be the maximum download and upload speed for that? cuz i have been told that it will only be 70-80kb/s. why is this so? why dont we get 512 kb/s or even 300-400 kb/s???? and will we be able to use download accelerators to increase the speed?

    having a 1mbps connection for 1200!
    and for info for noobs here that the speed 1mbps means 1 megabit per second means u have to divide by 8 to get it byte! which is 128Kilobyte per second! got it? and even on it there is a 15% overhead of packet transmission which then goes to 108K! so typically
    for
    1024 its 108.8K
    512 its 54.4

    and micronet’s uploads are good for gaming! and i guess the best responsive service in pk! if ur line is noisy they even pay th line man (rishwat) to correct it and u ddont have to worry :D

    meray neighbour nay link dot net kay liye apply kia tha 2 month pehlay abhi tak ussay sirf modem mila hai bechara rooz roota rehta hai. but iam using ptcl 1mb connection it is xcellent. ptcl say achi koi service nahi hai.i pay only 840 ruppes monthly un limited downloading

    Yes PTCL is good if it keeps running but if unfortunately once u stuck with any of internet issue its like killing yourself with holding its help line for unlimited time like its unlimited downloading for 4 hours and on :( … I am using it since a year and now planning to change it due to its poor customer services and bad billing. And Smart TV, here one of my uncle never availed this opportunity though PTCL charging him monthly for July 09 onwards. When he went to aftercare service center the PTCL representative asked him to show a proof that he never availed SMART TV for free …. Sounds interesting!!!!……
    My dad also has to visit service center monthly to remove smart TV charges from the bill as Smart TV was removed in June 09…
    People having unlimited patience can bear this all.

    So guys in Gujranwala don’t worry I’ll help u i am using internet last 6,7 years and other cities guys u must try PTCL DSL. to cheap rate they have with unlimited down & Uploading speed in 1 MB u got downloading speed 123 to 127 and uploading speed i always 1/4 of downloading speed. My Suggestion is this u must try PTCL DSL.

    Link Dot Net is just a shit …. i have replace my PTCL & HRI DSL network with LInk Dot Net & its just a shit …. browsing speed is zero like we are working on DialUp as far as the support section is concern they know only … that go to the modem settings and change the port .. for the rest just pray to God might be it will work fine…
    as per my suggestion i must say PTCL is much better than tis Link Dot Net Crap… SHit

    I’m one of the intial customer of link dot net. I have a good experience with ldn DSL. 512 to 1mb and now i just upgrage my service to 2MB. Downloading speed is awesome.
    but i’m not happy with uploading speed its just 10 to 13 kb.

    Ptcl Broadband is the best. I have 2MB student package and I get 260-270KBps download speed and 125-135 Upload speed. it is simply the best. All other companies have signed contract with ptcl and they give DSL through ptcl which is shared among a lot of people than that of PTCl own original connection. So always go for PTCL Broadband. It is the backbone of DSL in pakistan.

    GUYS FIRST I SHIFTED MY PTCL BROADBAND TO MICRONET AS PTCL DOWNLOAD SPEED SUCKS BUT WHEN I USED MICRONET ITS SPEED WAS EVEN WORST THAN PTCL THAN I CHANGED IT INTO LINK DOT NET AND I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH ITS DOWNLOAD SPEED !!! LINK DOT NET ROCKS :)
