Go4B - Worldcall Cable Internet reduces internet Tariff
Finally Go4B (World Call cable internet) opens its eyes looks around and decide to reduce the internet Tariff to a very compatitve package plans so here is what Go4b - (Worldcall Broadband) is offering:
Go4B (Woldcall Cable Internet) New Internet Tariff 2008
- 1MB - Unlimited - Rs.25 00
- 512kbps - Unlimited - Rs.1200
- 256kbps - Unlimited - Rs.1000
- 128kbps - Unlimited - Rs.600/
I have used Wateen, WOL DSL & PTCL if i compare to the service provided by Go4b - (Worldcall Broadband) with all the others then i would simply vote for Go4b - (Worldcall Broadband) and question will be why so here is a comparative analysis that might help you before you sign up for an internet connection.
DSL interent connection:
In a DSL connection most of your connection speed, browsing experience, downloads is dependent on three factors.
- Your Phone Line from computer to the PTLC Poll
- PTCL Telephone Connection
- Your ISP.
If your Telephone line gets a little noisy or the connection on the poll becomes a little loose you will have a horrible internet experience in case of DSL, there would tremendous disconnection, your download speed & your browsing speed will suffer horribly. The second factor for DSL is PTCL if a fault rises in a PTCL line at the back end you are doomed and you will be calling your ISP / PTCL / Your Line man and they all will be blaming each other this happened with me when i was using WOL DSL (now know as linkDotNet). And the third element & the last is your ISP which itself had many problems with DSL setup. Apart from that many people have reported the horrible customer service & very slow process for deployment of DSL by all providers .
Wateen WiMax
So far Wateen WiMax internet connection is not that bad, although i never expected it to be fast & reliable but the fact is Wateen have improved there service. We had a 512k line at our office and roughly i get a 64k download speed as the connection is shared between 13 people before it gets to us and is further shared at office where there are about 15 computers. Though the negative point in Wateen WiMax is that it is dependent on weather, if its raining or there are storm outside you will be getting tons & tons of disconnection. If you log a complain there customer support turns up quickly and usually updates the software in the wireless wimax modem. The negative point is you have to spend approximately 18000 for wireless modem they provide which of course they charge in installments of Rs 1300 which seems quite less but in the end you do pay 18000 for a wireless wimax modem which can only be used with wateen. My rule i will not spend any money on such equipment if they give it for free like DSL or go4B then i might get Wateen.
Go4b Broadband Cable Internet
Now Go4b is a cable internet provider means you are connected via a cable directly to the ISP. There is no center body like PTCL or Weather involved which can disrupt your internet connection. You have unlimited bandwidth unlike Wateen though DSL is also now unlimited. Apart from that i have been using go4B internet for last 4 months and i dont know the number of there customer support. There has been no problem at all (Mashallah) . I get a download speed of upto 42k when i was using 256k connection and now the have updated it to 512k and i expect a 60 - 80k download speed which i haven’t tested yet.

I checked the website, its showing a “revised packages comings soon” sign.
Worldcall is a great service because of all the reasons you’ve said, but their customer service is absolutely pathetic.
We had a huge problem with our connection, and a month went by without any solution from Worldcall’s end.
In the end, we cancelled the subscription and got a new one installed :D. Works fine now. I think it was the modem that had given up (it had been working for 3-4 yrs.) We got a new modem and everything. :)
dude Worldcall sucks they dont have support
worldcall modem sucks always worldcall is down
sometimes modem problem sometimes area is disconnected lol
and when you call for help they always ask shit question which windows you are using
which antivirus you are using
how much harddisk do you have
when you are scanning your company
LOLOLOL
they dont solve user problem
they only know how to get money from client
not to provide service.
TO polani:
REinstall you window.. ITs not you net prob.. Happened once to me. Will work fine
TO Zohair:
Yaar I called customer’s service at about 2pm and they came with a generator at about 7pm on the same day.
THats not bad
Hi there,
Im using LINKDOTNET’s 1MB Package at home.Gives me a speed around 100k,sometimes lower but im generally happy with it.
For office use i have opted for MAX COM’s 512K Package, gives me a speed around 50k,sometimes lower but im generally happy with it.Thinking of switching to Linkdotnet’s 1MB package since the price difference is of a mere Rs200.Maxcom are refusing to slash their prices further.Rs1800/512k whereas Link dot net is Rs2000/1mb.
I also have world call’s MY100 at home which gives me a speed around 10k.Not bad but i plan to disconnect since i havent used it much since last month.DSL has been working fine but yes there has been a couple of instances when my phone line went dead and i had to use worldcall briefly.
Now im wodering whether to opt for DSL or CABLE?
With the monsoons looming ahead,it is most likely that phone lines will be effected. If that happens we’re doomed.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!

Hi everybody,
can anyone help me out on this. I need to understand what is the difference between cable and DSL. basically I need a fast internet which does not depend on a physical line/cable/telephone line. I read the advert of worldcall in a newspaper in which they said that their DSL is not dependent upon phone line. but does it come through wireless or cable? because stupid hostel authorities would not give us permission to get a phone/cable/landline in our rooms. I was wondering if worldcall DSL is not dependent upon this then maybe i can bypass this shit restriction by hostel authorities. Also please tell if worldcall 128 kbps package (600Rs?) is worth its value for money?
You can send me a reply at free.world80@yahoo.com
Thanks

Faheem47,you should call 111 111 965 with your complain, my download speed goes up to 90 - 100 on a 758K connection. Though these days WOL is also going through a technology enhancement so there are reports of bad connectivity. But still 2-6 at your end is not acceptable call there customer support.
Hey
I love World Call. I am using it for around 2 years via wireless connection. It is 128kb. Never faced disconnection problems. Customer support is splendid. You know i report a problem and after 1 hour they call me back their self that problem is solved now.
In rain it also works perfect.
Keep it up Worldcall.
