happy fridays

December 14th, 2007 by Zeeshan Hasan

Fridays should always be known as “Happy fridays”, as they help us remind of the up coming weekend with a list of huge todo’s for the weekend. Lately i have been more of a ghost and didn’t get any time to update my blog or my website. So far the re-design work on my site is almost 70% complete the 30% is pending and i am looking forward to the eid holidays in which i plan to finish the work and launch the next version of my portfolio.

December has started and very soon it will be yet another Happy NewYear, this year had been good at my end(thanks to God), although this post does not intend to put a review on what i have achieved this year, but i guess i passed pretty good this year and achieved some of the major goals and satisfied with it, and now its December so i am a bit off the hook from commercial projects and preparing for the next year for which i have pipelined some of the critical ventures i am going to experiment on. The most imp one is the relaunch of my portfolio.

I hate my job

September 27th, 2007 by Zeeshan Hasan

I Hate my job

hahah… i just ran into a site called WorkRant.com, man interesting stuff so many people hate there job then why do they do there job !

One thing is what i realized and we all need to realize is that no one can get his dream job, that is perfect in all manner ! very few are lucky to get that but they are unlucky to know that its there dream job. If your job is boring, you boss gives you a hard time and even if you are not well paid then you can improve all that without quiting a job ! Here is how we do it !

Financial Control !
First thing first, stop living from hand to mouth, save some money its the most difficult thing to do but do it, have at least 3 months of salary saved in safe in the form of cash / gold so that if you are jobless you can survive. This will also get you an edge & u wont be relying entirely on job for finances, you can quit any time you want and you don’t have to cry i hate my job also do the work. Try to find second resource of less-reliable income it could be freelance or consultancy, this is your backup.

I hate my Boss !
We all hate our boss, but why cause he asks us to do his shitty work while he sits and does nothing !he still takes the highest payable salary ! or he is less smarter and skilled then you are ! So what ! don’t hate your boss cause if you do that you ll be the one in problems.

Rather understand the fact that all that is mentioned above are his weakness, use them to make him dependent on you, if he is less smarter and you are more give that edge to him so he can say to his supervisors that his team is much smarter which will give him a promotion but he will be dependent on you ! Take initiatives if he gives you a hard time give him a hard time by doing more work more efficiently and then asking him whats next ! Open up communications with your boss’s supervisor but keep it clean don’t backbit rather once in a while save your boss’s ass and you boss will be totally dependent on you !

Become an Asset !
Due to our negative approach to job, we always do our jobs for the sake of doing it and keep on saying we hate our job, well if we do that then we are just like the sheep you see around the office, when there is a time for a promotion the hr will have to choose some one from the stabel of sheep, when there is time for layoff the supervisors will take a look at the sheep and slaughter some of them ! So if you really dont want to be a sheep then try to stand out of the flock of sheep, try to be the one who does not care about anything else but work, try to be the one on which the whole company runs and without whom the company will have problems, whose replacement a company cant find that way ! u ll have promotions, u wont be the sheep for the layoff or slaughter and you ll be an asset.

Now this is allot to ask, but once you do all that and still the company does not recognize that, send small warning & finally quit ! cause if you achieve this u ll be an asset and you wont have problems finding another job in a company that cares for you !

i sold my car online in Pakistan.

September 23rd, 2007 by Zeeshan Hasan

Okai this seems something kool and good, a month back when i planned to sell my car i place an ad in the newspaper & payed 600 Rs,  i received tons of phone calls for the price and specs and hardly 2 people showed up to take a look at my car and the deal didnt go so my car didnt got sold.

So a bit dishearten i posted my car’s add on  PakWheels.com, a local site run from Karachi i guess which provide you ability to place an add for your car for free of cost with pictures & specs. I did that,  and i started receiving e-mail requests for car info those who contact me were the potential buyers i guess, very interested thought the response was very less as compared to the newspaper ad but was legitimate, i also got requests for car exchange which was something new, i had heard about other swapping but car’s too ? Finally after few days a potential buyer showed up after seeing the ad from the site, checked out my car on Friday and bought my car on Saturday and for me “I just sold my car online in Pakistan”. Now if you belong to a western country this might be something that is normal but in Pakistan where the local .com bubble is building this was something exciting. So i guess things are moving ahead here as well!
