Bassant Festival

March 8th, 2006 by Zeeshan Hasan

Zeeshan’s Daily Aquarius Forecast
everyone you know assumed that you might fall apart once a certain element was removed from your life, but they were wrong — and how. You set out to prove just what you can do all on your own.
This is soo true

Time to Re-Design Blog
Okai its time to redesign the blog, this version was my first one with customized CSS and integration with portfolio, in the next one i am planning to enhance functionality & usability strict valid XHTML/CSS, might try ajax, RSS and a few more functional enhancements required.

Portfolio needs some sort of easy update functionality, which is a bit hard for me to find or build due to my busy schedule.

Basant Festival
Coming weekend is going to be the basant festival here in Lahore, its a kind of a party night every thing becomes legal … and party all night and yeh if you get time then you might fly some kites too. Its an event worth celebrating in Lahore.
The event is divided into two occasions, first one is basant night where on Sat night every body puts search lights on the roof tops and fly kites, the city is lightened up and there is festivity & celebration.
The next on is basant day where no lights but lots of kite flying, bar b q, loud music and full of fun.

Although There is a lot of controversy on this festival , as it costs life loss and financial loss , well the life loss is that many people fall from roof tops, get hurt by gun fire (a symbol of celebration) … and many innocent people driving on bikes die due to the fact that the kites string made with chemicals/ crushed glass, runs through there neck while driving on bike and causes life loss.

Way back in my childhood i never heard such things as at the time it was all about flying kits and having some fun, but now the new age brings kite strings build with chemicals, metal wires and very sharp blade like crused glass on it which can easily cut & cause life loss.

But still government has allowed the event and has allowed kit flying / purchase for two weeks only after which a ban will be imposed on it. The city is all decorated with color full flags, banners & lights …. Roof tops are booked for parties by corporations, we are all ready for party !

Inovative Technologies

February 8th, 2006 by Zeeshan Hasan

Google is always coming up with innovative approached to change how the world works. There answer to MSN web messenger is gtalk right inside your inbox & save your chat history too. Now keeping these things in mind the next thing i hope is going to be Gbrowser.
- Gmail

Chat with your friends from right inside Gmail. There’s no need to load a separate program or look up new addresses. It’s just one click to chat with the people you already email, as well as anyone on the Google Talk network. And now you can even save and search for chats in your Gmail account.

Ajax is Changing the world
Probably i am two years behind in finding out about the new technologies, Ajax is a techniqu that has been around for a while, major example gmail, secondary some portions of yahoo. And now its all over the web.

Winamp has recently added an Ajax based MP3 player plugin>> Link

This plug-in allows you to control Winamp over the network using a web browser. It utilizes AJAX (Asynchronous Javascript & XML) techniques to recreate the Winamp interface right in your browser.

EyeTool >> now look at the level of research people do & what do we do !

Eyetools provides tools and services to measure eye-movement as people look at WebPages to quantify what people read, what they don’t read, what they glance at, what they skip, and what they never see…
— and then we correlate this to their clicks, comments, and actions.

Microsoft Cleans Up Sony’s Mess

November 18th, 2005 by Zeeshan Hasan

NO ONE CAN STOP PIRACY ~ SUPPORT OPEN SOURCE

Microsoft said it would remove controversial copy-protection software that CDs from music publisher Sony BMG install on personal computers, deeming it a security risk to PCs running on Windows.

The XCP program, developed by First4Internet in Britain and used on music CDs by Sony BMG to restrict copying and sharing, has generated concern amongst computer users, because it acts like virus software and hides deep inside a computer where it leaves the backdoor open for other viruses.
